A transformative renewal for the home of screen culture and the moving image.

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image is the world’s most visited moving image museum. Since 2002, they have welcomed over 14.7 million visitors to the museum, sharing the world of film, TV, video games, digital culture and art. Second Story served as the Exhibit and Experience Design partner to help lead a complete transformation of the museum. The 25,000-square-foot space became our canvas for re-imagining a world-class visitor experience. A new signature exhibition takes audiences on an immersive journey into the past, present and future of the moving image. And two new education spaces empower students and teachers to create their own moving image works. The ambitious vision behind the renewal seeks to elevate ACMI’s profile as a must-visit destination for international tourists while also expanding on the many ways it serves Australians, including local story-maker communities.
